In the 20th session of United Nation World Tourism Organisation’s (UNWTO) General Assembly, Azerbaijan was voted to become a part of the UNWTO Executive Council. The country won favour with 25 votes in competition with Germany, Serbia, and Bulgaria.
“Achievements within the World Tourism Organisation’s Executive Council are indication of the growing influence of Azerbaijan in world tourism, as well as the improvement of the image of our country,” reported the statement by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan.
Furthermore, the session decided to hold the European Commission meeting in Baku in 2014.
